First debut of the Precision Unloaded Podcast tee First debut of the Precision Unloaded Podcast tee shirts. Clearly an influencing factor in Graeme's podium finish at Surplus Steel today. Congrats to @knoxy_09 for taking out the top spot with some epic shooting - just what we've been expecting from him for the past 4 years. A humble 10th placing for yours truly. Great start to the day, and then a bit of an inexplicable low scoring stage with only 3 hits, with misses trending quite high. Adopting a lower point of aim for the following stages, and trying to recover from some bruised confidence I stayed a shot or two off the pace of the nearest competitors in our squad, slowly descending into a fairly average performance compared to my first few stages. Regardless of placing (although Surplus Steel does have the coolest trophies...), it was an incredibly fun day, with a cool squad, excellent ROs and match staff / helpers, and epic summer weather. Now it's time to dust off the 22LR and start getting ready for the upcoming @sparc_22_series season, with the first match on 21 Feb. Although, I will be trying to do some load dev on 303 this year and keeping my eye in a bit in between all the rimfire matches

Wicked few days in the Kaimanawas with @magdump_ma Wicked few days in the Kaimanawas with @magdump_mark and Horty, just over a week ago. Weather played ball with plenty of sunshine and not too much wind or rain to keep us (or the deer) holed up. A week later, enjoying the spoils with some backstrap for an early Christmas family dinner, and some Sika salami thanks to the great work of @countiescustomkilling. When I summon the energy / motivation, I'll be attempting my first batch of biltong at home...
The @sparc_22_series 2025 final is done and dusted The @sparc_22_series 2025 final is done and dusted. An absolutely massive day, supported by amazing sponsors, generous volunteers and an epic community of shooters, including some who came to the series final for their very first match, and even some international guests. The course of fire was challenging, and worthy of a series final. Top place in Rifleman scoring 75% of possible in the gusting, switchy winds - showing the difficulty level. We took inspiration from the 2025 IPRF World Champs, replicating and adapting several stages. It was really cool to be able to bring some of that experience and challenge back home for our series. I received a lot of thanks and compliments for the match and the event, but I must pass on a massive thanks to Simon and Graeme who brought up props, targetry, scoring systems, arranged volunteers, trophies, banners, sponsorships, and more. Running a match is hard work, but putting on a series final "event" is next level, and is only possible thanks to these guys and the regular volunteer support crew, as well as the Aussie competitors who got volunteered to help with set up. The landowners also went above and beyond, not only giving us access to an awesome venue, but also moving props around with the tractor, pounding in posts to make more props, even mowing the grass at the firing line! All in all, a lot of work, a great event, and a successful series. Scores and photos will be available later this week. See you all in 2026!

The Gun Rack
Round 3 of the @sparc_22_series went down on Saturday with Cold SPARC held in Taihape, which happened to be my first SPARC match of the year.A sore knee slowed me down a bit, but overall I was quite happy with how I shot, landing in 5th for the day (apparently 5th is "my spot").A bit of luck with the wind helped me get the fastest clean on the SPARC Skills stage, which I was quite pleased with on my first attempt at the new tie-breaker format.Thanks @gpreventsnz and volunteers for a great match! ...
