Last Sunday was round 3 of the North Island PRS Rimfire series, hosted by @magdump_mark - another excellent day behind the rifle, hanging out with mates and talking crap.It was a well-designed match with a good mix of complex and simple stages. The weather was pretty much a steady drizzle all day, affecting visibility a fair bit in the morning, but after that just keeping everything damp and providing a pretty good indicator of wind direction. The wind itself was not as strong as Saturday, but very switchy with some powerful gusts, just to keep you on your toes.I maintained my season average placing of 5th, and was quite happy with how I shot on the day. I had one stage where I was a bit slow and that cost me a couple points, but other than that I had some decent scores and kept the mental errors to a minimum. The gun ran pretty well all day, but the moisture finally caused me some issues, with a stuck case / failure to extract on the last stage of the day - ironically when the sun had started shining. It was the PRS Skills stage, and it definitely slowed me down with a time of ~95 seconds, but I kept calm and focused on cleaning the stage rather than rushing and dropping shots.Comgrats to those on the podium, and to Mark for another excellent match ...
