Changes for the 2026 Series:
Scoring system amendment. The series points awarded to competitors at each match will be determined as a percentage of the score of the winner in the respective Class. The percentage is rounded to the nearest whole number.
In the example below, the Winner’s score for the match is 87. The winner secures 100 Series Points.
The 3rd place shooter achieves a score of 79 for the match, which is 91% of the Winner’s score. The 3rd place shooter accumulates 91 Series Points.

Class name change. The Rifleman class is renamed Open class.
New Division prizes. There will be new awards in Open class; Top Semi-Auto and Top Lady. These awards will be given at matches where there are enough entrants in each Division.
Free entry for juniors. Free entries for juniors (18yo or younger at the start of the year) has been standardised across all SPARC matches.
First match free. In the spirit of encouraging new shooters, a shooter who has never shot a SPARC Series match will be able to enter their first match at no cost – please encourage your friends or family to take advantage of this and join in!
Marksman Class Rules
22LR Only. Only rifles chambered in 22LR may be used.
Rifle system weight limit – 4.5kg. The rifle and all affixed accessories or attachments intended to be used when shooting shall not exceed this limit. This includes muzzle devices, bipod, sling, magazine (unloaded), and any peripheral items, such as data cards, spare magazines mounted to the rifle, levels, timers, etc.
“Simple scope” rule. Any scope, with any features, reticle, electronics or magnification range may be used. However, the following rules apply:
- No dialing. The scope remains “zeroed” throughout the match, and no windage or elevation is dialed onto it.
- No parallax adjustment under time. Parallax may be set before shooting a stage, but may not be adjusted within the stage time.
- Maximum 10x magnification. While scopes with more than 10x magnification are allowed to be used, they must only be used at 10x magnification or lower. Magnification can be adjusted within the stage time.
Shooting support bag weight limit – 1.5kg. Support bags of any size or shape may be used, but must weight 1.5kg or less. Bags cannot be attached to the rifle.
No additional support equipment. Aside from a shooting support bag, no other support equipment (e.g. shooting stocks, tripods, etc.) may be used. A day pack / back pack may be used in place of a “standard height” bipod to support the front of the rifle (i.e. a front support up to ~13″ in height). No other support equipment may be used, outside of what is provided by the individual stage.
Open Class Rules
22LR Only. Any rifle chambered in 22LR may be used. There are no restrictions on rifle weight, scope / sight, or muzzle device.
All support equipment allowed. Any shooting support bag, bipod, tripod, etc., is allowed. A tripod is not required to be competitive, and, where required by a stage, there will be one provided.
Stage-specific limitations. Some stages may specifically restrict use of certain items (e.g. no tripod, or one bag only). These will be clearly written into the stage description.
