There is no camping on site, however there is an affordable camp site 5 mins down the road, which has a licensed café. They have multiple accommodation options if you’d like something a bit more comfortable than camping!
You should turn up with your equipment ready to go, however there will be a zero board set up for those who need to check zero throughout the day. Please do not rely on this if at all possible, as zeroing can be difficult if there is high wind on the day.
Special Notes for the 2025 Series Final
There is a catered meal included in your entry, which will be at the Nikau Caves & Cafe, 5 mins down the road from the competition venue. This will be at the end of the day after shooting is done and before prizes and speeches, etc. Drinks are not included.
There are trophies for Match and Series achievements.
There are T shirts and hoodies available to purchase with your entry. T shirt and hoodie orders will cut off on 7 November, and will be non-refundable.
Event entries become non-refundable on 7 November (as we will prepay for your meal).
BOSS Gear Side Match; There is a $5 optional side match, which is one additional shooting stage. There will be 3x BOSS Gear shooting bags to win. The first bag will be given away by random draw for all those entered, the second will be for the shooter who achieves the average stage score, and the third will be for the top scoring shooter on the stage.
Format
If you have been to a GPRE or TLRS event, you will have a good idea of how squads will be run, and what stages might be like. If you haven’t, don’t worry, you will be squadded with someone who is experienced in field shooting competitions.
Ammunition and round count. You should bring at least 200 rounds. As the event title suggests, this is a 22LR event only, no other chamberings are allowed. The round count may be revised slightly, and will be updated in the final competitor brief.
There will be 12 stages, each with a different challenge.
Classes and Categories
Marksman Class: This class will be perfect for you if you are new or developing in the sport, or interested in competing with a more pared back set up. If you have shot Hunter Class between 2022 and 2024, your gear and rifle will fit in this new class. For more info on the 2025 series rules for Marksman, please check out the link below.
If you are new, we highly recommend this Class, which will have it’s own 1st, 2nd and 3rd placing – you will not have a fun day at the longer ranges if you can’t get hits on target.
Expect target distances between 10m and 100m.
Rifleman Class: Race guns and all the gear! The class for seasoned competitors.
Expect target distances between 10m and 160m, with a few out to 200m.
Ladies and Juniors Categories: We encourage as many female and junior (18 and under) shooters as possible to participate! Please bring along your partners or kids if they are interested. Supervised shooting within a squad is permitted, as is rifle sharing.
Ladies and Juniors will participate in their chosen Class, and will also be eligible to win Top Lady or Top Junior.
Juniors can enter for a reduced cost, which covers their meal at the end of the day.
What do I need for the day?

- Hydration – there will be water supplied along the shooting line. Feel free to bring your own.

- Time keeping device (watch / cellphone)
- Chamber flag / empty chamber indicator
- Hearing protection – compulsory if shooting unsuppressed, and there may be unsuppressed shooters in your squad
