Lots of rifle issues, and definitely some shooter Lots of rifle issues, and definitely some shooter issues, meant Hunter Class at Saturday's @gpreventsnz match did not go well for me, at all... However the Surplus Class was a lot of fun, and I was happy to take 2nd place. Steve, who won the class, was in a league of his own though! Thanks to Simon, Hans and the volunteer crew for another great Pre-Roar Eye Opener match!

After a couple days culling on a friend's family f After a couple days culling on a friend's family farm, this snack-size fallow popped out just above the track on the way back to the quarters. Pretty happy with the time from deer spotted to shot fired - around 8 seconds. My pint size game changer on the door of the ute made a perfect rest, enabling me to just open the door, kneel down and shoot. Also, for those who say a FFP dirty reticle is no good for hunting, this is the @elementopticsnz Helix 4-16x44 FFP MRAD APR-2D at 6 power at under 20 metres, and it's not too cluttered at all. Good reticle design makes all the difference. I think I still had the parallax set at 100m, but at low mag it's not really an issue. --- Footage captured with @triggercamnz
It's Ragnarok - the End of Days! The Gun Rack is h It's Ragnarok - the End of Days! The Gun Rack is hosting the final 22LR shoot at the Waikaretu property we have been using for the last year. We will open up entries soon, so save the date - Sunday 16 April. We aim to continue hosting precision and field style comps in the Waikato / Auckland region, but unfortunately this property won't meet the upcoming range regs, so it's time to have a last hoorah and make it a good one! We will include some of the best stages from our 9 Lives and Steel Storm events, so if there's anything you really liked (or hated), let us know in the comments and we'll see what we can do to make it our best shoot yet.
I really should invest in a comparator set for mea I really should invest in a comparator set for measuring shoulder bump... if anyone's after a field expedient way to measure bump, grab a pistol case or maybe a delrin bushing of sorts and you can get a pretty good idea of what's going on. Alternatively, if you want a comparator set or something else for your reloading bench, get in touch
